1 hour long doodle. Pen on paper. Processing info while randomly sketching in my work sketchbook during a meeting today (side pics from old Project Runway, love the designs!). Sketching helps me focus on what I hear. When I look back at a sketch, I can recall the conversation. Crazy day, kinda all over the place. Wrapping up loose ends, which can take a while and can be frustrating. But one day at a time does it ... and focusing on what's important to me: my health, my family, my friends, my sketching.

10 min. Pen on paper.
The Bean. We only have one … do
we get a discount? Warm, sunny and full
of people at Millennium Park today. Nice
lunch!
p.s. nice guy and his daughter were sitting next to me while I was sketching. When I got up to leave, he told me they'd been peaking over my shoulder, and he said 'amazing'. I was so touched, such a sweet and unexpected comment :-)

10 min fast burn, on a fast moving boat, no less. Pen on paper. Livin' the high life on the boat w my BFF. So excited to sketch AND post from the water. Even jumped in the lake today ... cold water, hot day. Sweet livin'!
p.s. My bff's daughter, who's 2 years old, looked at the sketch and said 'that's me, and that's mommy'. So cute!

just do it!
Today I'm starting a little adventure. I want to see what happens when I draw something every day for a whole year. It doesn't matter what the subject is, or even what the result looks like. It doesn't matter what media I use. The only thing that matters is that I draw. Something. Anything. Every day. Do I have the discipline? Will I be consistent? I honestly don't know. I'd like to think so ... after all, I've applied myself to school and work so intensely. But will I do it for something that is fun and relaxing? Will I be self-disciplined enough to do this? That's the big question.
I want to get better at drawing. I want to get good. I want to inspire myself and maintain the motivation and excitement even through those days when I simply don't feel like drawing. I want to just do it.
I have high hopes, but mostly, I am so curious to see how much progress I can make in a year.
Here's to June 20, 2013 ... wow, that's a long time!
