Not feeling like sketching today. At all.
Difficult, yet rewarding personal growth day. That's the thing about having emotional breakthrough's when it comes to our selves: the soul-self is healed and gratified, but your mind and body are left exhausted in the aftermath. All well worth it.

Today I'm starting a new category called On-The-Budget. First feature: my new obsession, oxfords!
About a month ago, I got a running foot injury, and I had to shove my beloved heels to the back of the closet for a while. And since I can't be wearing sneakers to work (my first choice), and since ballet flats didn't offer the needed support, I re-discovered the oxford! And wouldn't you know it, there are so many super cute oxfords out there right now, in all color combinations, and they come in all price ranges!
This is a pair of Oxfords I got for the super budget-friendly price of $24.50 from Wet Seal. I love the color pop on the sole, and the contrast between the mouse grey and the neon orange! I may have to get a cute pair of socks to match the sole!
On-The-Budget is going to be a place for all my budget-conscious great finds that I'm excited about, like these cute and comfy oxfords. Because, let's face it, recession or not, whether you've got a money tree growing in your back yard or not, we all love a good bargain!
For me, even more so now that I am making a lot of changes and going thru major transitions in my life. I am planning to focus more on the important things in my life than on spending money to make myself feel better: following my dreams and my heart, creating meaningful and lasting relationships with the people in my life, and in general, having a more balanced life. I want to spend my time and money doing the things that I love with the people I care about and who care about me and support me every day.
So I say, go ahead and splurge on those investment pieces. But for the day-to-day, keep searching for those exciting bargains! It's all about balance!

Model from Urban Zen. I am in total and complete love with and in awe of Urban Zen, an amazing and fresh concept from Donna Karan. I LOVE all the colors and fabric folds, and the models look stunning in those clothes! Love, love, love the color palette, I wish I could wrap myself in all those gorgeous clothes! I am totally gaga over the richness of color, texture and that amazing lighting in such beautiful, gorgeous photographs! Ah-mazing! A dream to sketch and watercolor!
