Today I got a new place! I'm so excited!! After months of waiting to move and not knowing what my next step will be, and after weeks of living out of a suitcase, I finally get to unpack, set up my own space again and start to paint and draw in a nice space.
The light in my new place is awesome throughout the day, and I even have a tiny view of the ocean (technically). Mostly overlooking palm trees, banana and orange trees, the hills and rooftops of quaint houses around me, and the bluest sky. Only about a 10-minute walk to the beach, too! Now we're talking! On my way to constructing my 'perfect day'!
And I cannot WAIT to set up my computer and scanner so I can finally post clean sketches again! Using a phone sure comes in handy when you're in transit, but it gets old fast.
Today was a gorgeous sunny and warm day in southern California, complete with the crisp smell of the ocean and seagulls flying overhead all around town. No sign of snow, wind or getting dark at 4:30pm. Just the way I like it!

Happy December 1st!
When I was a kid in school, I would take a page in my notebooks and write really big Dec. 1, with fun little drawings and colors around it! To me, December 1st has always meant the beginning of winter, and I got excited about each and every December 1st!
Later on, in college and at work, I still wrote Dec. 1st in my sketchbooks each year! So here we go: it's December 1st all over again, and also in my 365 sketches this year! This year, I am happy to spend my first warm and sunny winter in 9 years back in California, starting with December 1st in warm New Orleans this weekend.
